The Bryan Police Department was dispatched to a burglary of a habitation in progress in the 3300 block of Augusta Drive in Bryan, Texas. Alert citizens saw the suspicious activity and were able to direct the police to the vehicle involved in the burglary.
Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at Hensel Park, on South College Ave in College Station. Officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle and investigated the possible burglary of habitation. Items were recovered from the vehicle that were reported stolen from the residents. Three laptop computers, gaming devices, a rare coin collection, and other miscellaneous items were stolen from the house and recovered from the vehicle. It was estimated that $10,000 worth of property was stolen by the suspects and recovered by the police. The occupants were arrested and transported to the Brazos County Jail.
The suspects were charged with Burglary of a Habitation. Burglary of a Habitation is a Second Degree Felony and is punishable by confinement for a term from 2 to 20 years in prison; and an optional fine not to exceed $10,000.
